Age-Appropriate Play & Learning

A typical day in our 3 and 4-year-old classrooms begins with circle-time. This is the time when children are able to share their show-and-tell, choose jobs for the day with their "helping hands", as well as work with the calendar and weather chart. Open play follows, along with an art project guided by a teacher in a small group, easel time, snack-time, and story time. Songs (along with sign language), finger-plays and group games and yoga are learned throughout the year.

Each classroom is stocked with plentiful,

age-appropriate manipulatives (building blocks; toys; puzzles; puppets; space, town & animal play-sets) that are divided into special areas for exploration in dress-up, art,

dramatic play, building, reading, music and movement.

Outdoor play is important too. Our play area is spacious and well-maintained. It features playhouses, a sandbox, swings, slides, teeter-totters, riding toys, climbing equipment and a water table

We celebrate the seasons and holidays with performances for family and friends. The children share their special songs, finger-plays and stories as well as art projects.

Our program for 3 year olds is limited to 18 children and our program for 4 year olds is limited to 20 children on any given day. Each classroom has a staff of three qualified and caring teachers.
